
After a weekend-opening road loss, the Vankleek Hill Cougars earned a pair of home wins to move up into third place in the National Capital Junior Hockey League standings.
Sunday, November 3 – Vankleek Hill Cougars 4, Morrisburg Lions 1
Alexandre Chenier had a goal and two assists, while Maxime Laliberte scored and added an assist, as the Cougars closed out a successful weekend with a 4-1 victory over Morrisburg at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Sebastien Quimet and Malcolm Seguin also found the twine for Vankleek Hill. Tristan Paquette earned the win in net for the home team.
Saturday, November 2 – Vankleek Hill Cougars 8, Cumberland Castors 1
Fans at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre last Saturday evening were treated to a goal-scoring feast, as the Cougars steamrolled to an 8-1 win over the visiting Cumberland Castors.
Cody Horner led the charge for the home side, scoring once and adding four assists. Sebastien Quimet scored once and had three assists, Connor Stewart scored twice and added an assist, while Reid Cunning, Andy Lightle-Blais, and Bruno Laframboise each had a goal and an assist.
Maxime Laliberte also scored for Vankleek Hill, while Mael Gendron had the win in net.
Friday, November 1 – Vankleek Hill Cougars 1, Westport Rideaus 4
The Cougars started off the weekend on a sour note, traveling all the way to Westport, only to come home pointless after a 4-1 loss to the Rideaus. Malcolm Seguin was the lone goal scorer for Vankleek Hill in the loss.

The Cougars are at home this Saturday, November 9, for a rematch with Cumberland. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre.
On Sunday, Vankleek Hill travels to nearby St-Isidore to face the Eagles. Puck drop at the St-Isidore Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
