The work of local artist Linda Scott-Harris is the subject of a new exhibition opening at Le Chenail Cultural Centre in Hawkesbury on Saturday, November 2.

“Creatures, great and small,” borrowing a line from both an old hymn and the book by James Herriot, features paintings providing a nuanced look at the animal world.

Scott-Harris’ work Moment of Confrontation was a semi-finalist in the Arc Salon Competition 2024, held at the Art Renewal Center in Reading, New Jersey. A copy of the image will travel into space aboard the Lunar Codex Time Capsule to be placed on the Moon.

Scott-Harris is inspired by classical drawing techniques and Old Master’s methodology. She is also a respected, passionate local art instructor and equestrian sports photographer. Her work in that area has included photographing royal visits and horses owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The vernissage for Linda Scott-Harris’ “Creatures, great and small” exhibition takes place on Saturday, November 2 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Le Chenail Cultural Centre, located in Maison de l’île at Confederation Park in Hawkesbury. The exhibition continues until November 24.
