Members of the Scotiabank Vankleek Hill branch, Théorêt & Martel Insurance Brokers, the MC Team, and community sponsors, alongside event organizers NHL linesman Steve Barton and Judith and Dom Sauve, gathered for the 2024 Steve Barton Golf Classic to raise funds for Tyler McMahon. McMahon, a 28-year-old Vankleek Hill resident, who is undergoing extensive rehabilitation following a severe case of bacterial meningitis. Held at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club, the event raised $35,000 to support the McMahon family and the Meningitis Foundation, helping fund specialized equipment and ongoing therapy for McMahon’s recovery. “Life can change quickly, but having a community to lean on is something special,” said Barton.
