A Lachute man has been arrested for a series of alleged sexual offences.

Sûreté du Québec officers arrested Pierre Rousson, 70, on October 10.

Rousson appeared the same day in court in Saint-Jérôme and remained in custody. He is due back in court on October 22 for further proceedings.

The suspect was allegedly involved in two separate sexual assault incidents in the Lachute area. The alleged events allegedly occurred between December 1, 2015, and September 25, 2023. The suspect may have had other victims who have not yet been identified.

Since several victims have been identified, the serial crime investigation management structure (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec, has been deployed. This is a unified command structure within which Québec police services work in partnership to quickly identify crimes committed by predators and arrest them.

The Sûreté du Québec reminds that at any time, the public can also transmit information confidentially to the Sûreté du Québec Criminal Information Center at 1 800 659-4264.
