A large crowd of people left Vankleek Hill feeling very full on Sunday, September 8.

The annual Festival of Flavours food festival featured a wide range of food vendors and local produce.

“It’s for the harvest time,” said Samme Putzel, owner of Excellent Events, which organizes the festival.

Putzel was very pleased with the turnout for the event.

Local vegetables and fruit were for sale, along with baked goods, maple sugar, and more diverse eats with origins in India, Tibet, and Thailand. There were also vegetarian, vegan, and barbecue to enjoy.

Live music also kept the crowd entertained during the afternoon.

There were no vampires within miles of Vankleek Hill on Sunday either because there was so much garlic in town.

In addition to vendors selling the aromatic bulbs on Main Street at the Festival of Flavours, the Vankleek Hill Lions Club hosted a Garlic Farmers Market beside École St-Grégoire where garlic growers could sell their products and offer samples.
