There is more fair fun to be had locally this coming weekend in Riceville.

The small village by the Scotch River is home to the annual Riceville Fair from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25.

Agriculture and old-fashioned country life is at the heart of the Riceville Fair, and the schedule of events proves it.

Admission is free on Friday at the fair. Exhibits will be placed in the hall that evening. The beer garden will be open along with bingo. Games will be held in the barn.

Competitions begin on Saturday at the Riceville Fair. There will be an English and Western horse show that day. On Saturday, there will also be the country market featuring many vendors and artisans, the exhibition hall will be open, live entertainment will be on stage, and that evening, the truck pull is to take place.

The Riceville Fair is a busy place on Sunday. The always popular Riceville Agricultural Society Brunch is that morning along with the beef show. The antique and farm stock tractor pull is on Sunday morning also. That afternoon, the Hereford and Simmental beef show is planned. Also to take place on Sunday are the donkey show and horseshoe tournament.

Admission to the Riceville Fair on Saturday and Sunday is $15 each day. The Riceville Fairgrounds are located on County Road 16 in Riceville. For the complete schedule of events and information for exhibitors and competitors, go to https://www.ricevilleagrsociety.ca/.
