The Board of Directors of the L’Orignal Old Jail has received a donation of $1,000 from the Knights of Columbus, Conseil St-Jean-Baptiste de L’Orignal.
This support is the first milestone in a fundraising campaign for the 2025 celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the landmark building.
The funds raised will help the bicentennial committee develop interesting activities that will highlight the unique heritage of this building so important for L’Orignal and Champlain. Several activities are being prepared, including the writing of a book, Behind the Walls / Derrière les murs, on the history of this building and related anecdotes.
