St-Jean-Baptiste/Fête Nationale is Monday, June 24 and celebrations are planned for Québec’s holiday in Lachute and Grenville on Sunday, June 23.
The event in Lachute takes place at the fairgrounds and begins at 5pm with children’s activities.
Musical entertainment begins at 7 pm and continues to 10 pm. The entertainment will pause at 8:15 for a short ceremony.
Festivities end at 10 pm with a fireworks display.
In Grenville, celebrations take place at Parc Normand-Woodbury in the centre of the village and begin with a ceremony at 4 pm. Children’s activities continue until 8 pm.
At 6 pm, a parade will start from the Maison des Jeunes on Rue Principale.
Music by Marc Bélanger will be featured on stage beginning at 7 pm. The finale of the festivities will be the fireworks display at 10 pm.
