There were no injuries resulting from a house fire in Grenville on Sunday, May 26.
According to Grenville village Fire Chief Stéphane Aubry, firefighters were called to the home on rue Cavanagh at around noon on Sunday. Firefighters from Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, Hawkesbury, and Brownsburg-Chatham assisted, bringing the total number of firefighters at the scene to 35.
Aubry said the cause of the fire was electrical and started on the outside of the house. As of Monday morning, it was not determined if the house would have to be torn down.
“There was considerable damage,” Aubry said.
The fire was under control by 1:30 pm and firefighters remained at the scene until around 6 pm on Sunday.
