A motorcyclist is dead following a collision in Russell Township.
On Wednesday, May 15, at around 9:40 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, along with the Prescott-Russell Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Russell Township Fire Services responded to a collision on Craig Street, west of Hamilton Road in Russell. Initial information indicated that a collision occurred between a motorcycle and an SUV.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. The motorcyclist had a suspended drivers’ licence.
Craig Street between Hamilton Road and Boundary Road remained closed till approximately 7:25 a.m. on May 16.
The investigation is on-going.
