The morning of Wednesday, May 15 had a shaky start for many residents of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge and the surrounding area.
The Review received numerous reports from people saying they felt or heard an earthquake in the area. According to federal monitoring agency Earthquakes Canada, there was a minor 3.2 magnitude earthquake on Wednesday morning. The epicentre was north of Pointe-au-chêne and the earthquake was nine kilometres deep. Based on the 78 reports Earthquakes Canada received, the feeling of the earthquake was weak to light and mostly along the Ottawa River between Plaisance and Grenville/Hawkesbury.
