Sketching and Drawing during May Show

On Sunday, May 19, as part of the Vankleek Hill May Show, Arbor Gallery will welcome artists Hélène Desjardins and Louka Labelle for a live drawing session.

Set up indoors at the gallery, with their current exhibition as a backdrop, it will be a great opportunity for visitors to witness the artists’ creative process firsthand. This will allow the artists to showcase their skills in graphite drawing, engage with the visitors and answer questions.

Hélène Desjardins is part of vocal group Voix-Là who will be performing at 2:30pm during the May show. She will be at the gallery from noon to 2pm. Louka Labelle will be at the gallery from noon to later that afternoon.

The exhibition, Dialogues: an intergenerational artistic experience, runs until May 26.

Highly anticipated concert

On Friday, May 24, Saken Music and Arbor Gallery come together to welcome back Lynne Hanson to Arbor Gallery as part of her new album launch tour.  The album, Just a Poet, becomes available that very day. Hanson is not new to Vankleek Hill, having charmed many music lovers with her soulful music, captivating storytelling, and intimate connection with the audience.

Aptly called Canada’s Own Queen of Americana, her music blends elements of Americana, roots, and folk, featuring poignant lyrics, rich melodies, and soul-stirring vocals. Prepare to be moved by her heartfelt songs and powerful storytelling.

Concert on May 24, 7pm. Limited seating. Tickets: $25 ($20 for gallery members). RSVP/Tickets: [email protected].

Arbor Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 4pm, and is located at 36 Home Avenue, in Vankleek Hill. To reserve tickets or for information: [email protected]
