Brownsburg-Chatham is now officially a Village-Relais.

On May 8, Argenteuil Member of the National Assembly Agnès Grondin, confirmed the designation.

There are now three Villages-Relais in the Laurentides region and 48 across Québec. Designation brings the number of Relay Villages in the Laurentides region to three. Villages-Relais are designated communities where road users can stop and use local amenities and services to help reduce driving fatigue and reduce the risk of accidents.

“The Town of Brownsburg-Chatham is fully committed to the concept of Village-relais with a quality of welcome and dynamism that characterizes the member municipalities of the network,” Grondin said.

“This designation confirms our commitment to providing our citizens and travelers with safe and welcoming stopping places, while preserving our exceptional environment,” Kévin Maurice said.

Special signage on highways approaching Brownsburg-Chatham will identify the municipality as a Village-Relais.
