A series of charges were issued against commercial vehicle owners and operators in Hawkesbury on Tuesday, April 16.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) unit and enforcement officers from the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) conducted commercial vehicle safety enforcement in Hawkesbury at the Highway 34 and 17 interchange.

Commercial vehicles include tractor trailers, business vehicles, and pickup trucks registered for business purposes.

The enforcement activities in Hawkesbury resulted in 19 charges and 11 vehicles were taken out of service. Safety violations included fuel leaks, inoperative brakes, and unsecured loads. One driver was transferred to the Canada Border Services Agency for an immigration overstay violation.
