Have you ever wondered what the historic backstory is along rural back roads?

You can find out on May 25 or June 1 by taking the Glengarry Rambles; Hidden Histories of Lochiel Township tour, presented by the Glengarry County Archives and the Glengarry Pioneer Museum.

Hop aboard the bus at the Lochiel Centre and join the historical adventure, exploring the back roads of Lochiel’s colourful past. Glengarry County Archivist, Allan J. MacDonald will lead the tour. Topics include the only case from Glengarry to be heard by the Supreme Court of Canada, the Lochiel Demonstration Farm, Glengarry’s first woman and first francophone to serve on the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry council, the most-decorated military veteran born in Glengarry, a visit by the Governor-General to Lorne, and the Covenanters.

The cost per person for the tour is $30.00. The bus leaves from the Lochiel Centre on County Road 21 at 1 pm on both days. There will be a break at the approximate halfway point in Dalkeith. The approximate ending time for the tour is 3:30 pm at the Lochiel Centre.
