The annual remuneration report for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) has been published and in 2023, the eight mayors who serve on the UCPR (counties) council were paid $472,668.
The Nation Mayor Francis Brière was paid $48,030 and was reimbursed $1,496 for travel expenses and received $4,354 for conferences and reimbursements of other expenses, bringing his total amount received in 2023 to $53,880.
East Hawkesbury Mayor Robert Kirby was paid $48,450 and was reimbursed $498 for travel expenses and received $4,707 for conferences and reimbursements of other expenses, bringing his total to $53,655 for 2023.
Casselman Mayor Geneviève Lajoie was paid $48,135 in remuneration and was reimbursed $1,331 for travel expenses and received $7,026 for conferences and reimbursements of other expenses, bringing her total remuneration and expenses to $56,492.
Alfred-Plantagenet Mayor Yves Laviolette was paid $48,765 in remuneration, received $460 for travel expenses and was paid $6,976 for conferences and reimbursements for other expenses, bringing his total amount received for 2023 to $56,201.
Hawkesbury Mayor Robert Lefebvre was paid $48,135 in remuneration. He was reimbursed $269 for travel expenses and received $3,676 for conferences and reimbursement of other expenses, for a total of $52,080 paid in 2023.
Russell Mayor Pierre Leroux was paid $50,581 in remuneration, and received $1694 in travel expenses, along with $8,856 for conferences and remuneration of other expenses, for a total of $61,131.
Champlain Township Mayor Normand Riopel, who served as Warden, or Chairperson of the UCPR council in 2023, was paid $70,592 in remuneration. He was reimbursed $422 for travel expenses and received $13,096 for conferences and reimbursement of other expenses, for a total of $84,410 paid in 2023.
Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth was paid $48,450 in remuneration, received $1,217 for travel expenses and was paid $5,152 for conferences and reimbursement of other expenses, for a total of $54,819 paid in 2023.
