L’Orignal residents are being advised that between March 11 and July 12, 2024, a complete recoating of the interior and exterior of the water tower (standpipe) will take place, as well as safety upgrades and the addition of a cathodic protection system to extend the coating life.
During the work period, the standpipe will be offline and water users might experience some minor water pressure fluctuations.
The $1.341-million project is being done by Landmark Municipal Service of Burlington, Ontario and includes improvements to the ladder fall arrest system and adding a mixing system inside the standpipe.
Engineering costs are about $74,000 for this project. When complete, the water storage needs will be served for the next 30 years.
