The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals after a vehicle failed to stop for police.
On February 27, 2024, at approximately 3:35 a.m. on Highway 417, an OPP officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at kilometre 62 in The Nation municipality. The vehicle failed to stop.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Highway 417 near kilometre 4, the same vehicle was stopped by officers using a tire deflation device.
As a result, 19-year-old Ahmed Oumallouk of Montréal was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC):
• CC 320.17 Adult flight from peace officer
• CC 353(1)(b) Adult possessing automobile master key
• CC 145(5)(a) Adult failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
• CC 351(1) Adult possession break in instruments
• CC 88 Adult possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Abdelaziz Senouci, 21, of Montréal, was also arrested and charged with the following under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC):
• CC 353(1)(b) Adult possessing automobile master key
• CC 733.1(1) Adult fail to comply with probation order – 2 counts
• CC 355(b) Adult possession property obtained by crime under $5000
• CC 351(1) Adult possession break in instruments
• CC 88 Adult possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Both suspects were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2024.
