A resident of the Bourget area in Clarence-Rockland faces numerous charges after an incident in which Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were assaulted.

On Wednesday, February 14, shortly after 9a.m., members of the Russell County OPP Detachment, assisted by the Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit and Crisis Negotiators, attended a home in Bourget for a disturbance. After several hours an individual was arrested.

Alexandre Bisson, age 37, has been charged with:

  • Assault a Peace Officer With a Weapon – two counts
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Bodily Harm or Death – two counts
  • Destroys or Damages Property – two counts

The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and scheduled to appear for another hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on L’Orignal on February 15, 2024.
