The judges have spoken!
After visiting about two dozen properties during daylight and after dark to get the full effect of Christmas lights, the judges’ scoresheets have been tallied and we have six winners in the Vankleek Hill Christmas Wonderland of Lights Contest.
The event, organized by the Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association, offers $1,600 in Vankleek Hill bucks to six lucky homeowners, thanks to $200 sponsorships from the following local businesses: Beau’s All-Natural Brewing Company, Wylie Property Maintenance, Tolhurst Law Offices, Vankleek Cottage, LVH Building Group/Curtis St. Pierre Construction, Duval Ventures, I-Team Home Inspection and Vankleek Hill Foodland.
In the Best Use of Lights category, the winners are as follows:
First Place: Jason and Randi Hall, 95 Higginson Street win $500 in Vankleek Hill bucks.
Second Place: Garnet Millar of 39 Union Street wins $200 in Vankleek Hill bucks.
Barney Gordon, of 34 Jay Street wins $100 in Vankleek Hill bucks.
ECO ENTRIES:
First Place: Stephen and Ingrid Sharp of 90 Higginson Street win $500 in Vankleek Hill bucks for their “Santa’s Study” themed entry.
Second Place: Heather Connors of 31 Derby Avenue wins $200 in Vankleek Hill bucks.
Third Place: Helen and Marty Kaufman of 48 Derby Avenue win $100 in Vankleek Hill bucks.
