Infrastructure work or preparing for it included the decisions made by Lachute council when it met on November 7.

Additional work on storm water pipe replacement between the Walker stream and avenue Lorrain was approved.  Mayor Bernard Bigras-Denis said the contract has already been granted but additional work is needed at a cost of $60,650.06. The resolution was moved by Councillor Gaétan Larose and seconded by Councillor Guyliane Cyr-Desforges.

Conciergerie Speico Inc. of Lasalle will provide the custodial maintenance services for all municipal buildings in Lachute from 2023 to 2025. Council approved awarding the contract to the firm at a value of $378,405.49. Cyr-Desforges moved the resolution, and it was seconded by Councillor Hugo Lajoie.

Geotechnical and environmental studies for Phase I and Phase II for repairs to Gagne and rue Corbeil have been approved by Lachute Council. Lajoie moved the resolution, which was seconded by Councillor Aline Gravel to award the contract to Construction et Expertise P.G. Inc. of Beauharnois at a cost of $47,084.

Lachute council has also approved geotechnical and environmental studies for phase I and phase II for new infrastructure in the Synercité business park area.

Solroc of St-Laurent has been awarded the contract at a value of $51,465.

“This is a good project for the economy of the region,” said Councillor Christian David, who moved the resolution to award the contract. The motion was seconded by Larose.
