Artist Crystal Beshara will be painting live at the Arbor Gallery from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday November 19th .
Visitors taking part in Vankleek Hill’s Christmas Porch Tour on November 19 are in for a unique event at the Arbor Gallery. Not only will the historic building be specially decorated outside, but the indoor space will feature an internationally recognized artist painting on site and a pop-up shop selling handmade Christmas decorative items.
Be a witness to the creation of an original work of art. Crystal Beshara, an award-winning contemporary realist painter will be at the gallery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, working on her latest project. Her work moves easily between watercolour, oil, and dry media and her subject matter includes florals, animal portraits and other rural highlights.
Crystal will also be selling her 2023 calendar of rural scenes. She will have a solo exhibition of her work at the Arbor Gallery in August of 2023.
Also at the gallery on Saturday, November 19, will be Marie-Eve Bergevin-Thompson, with hand-crafted Christmas and decorative items, including wood pieces, Christmas ornaments, cards and wreaths. She will be returning on the weekend of December 10 and 11. Christmas shopping season hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, as well as noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Friday.
Of course, as part of the Christmas Porch Tour’s scavenger hunt, Frost the Gnome will be hiding amongst the art, waiting for visitors to discover him.
Pop-ups continue to pop up
The gallery will continue to host pop-up shops every weekend until December 16t. The schedule is:
- November 26 and 27 – Linda Gouchie (Assorted cookies and crochet creations), Anne Cadotte ( Preserves) and Garnet Millar (Fused and Stained Glass Art).
- December 3 and 4 – Reenie Marx (Fine Arts Photography) and Alison Collard (Pottery). On Christmas parade evening, December 2, the gallery will be open and they will both be present from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- December 10 and 11 – Manon Sauvé (Fused Glass Art) and Marie-Eve Bergevin-Thompson (Decorated wood pieces, Christmas decorations, cards and wreaths).
- December 17 and 18 – Susan Jephcott (Books, paintings & miniatures) and Doris Bosch (Jewelry).
Arbor Gallery – Galerie Arbor is located at 36 Home Avenue, in the heart of Vankleek Hill.
