For over ten years, the Champlain Library has been providing children with a new book at Christmas through the ‘A Book on Every Bed’ campaign. The books are supplied to children whose families are recipients of Christmas baskets from the Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal Food Banks. The Library is looking for donations of new books so that these children will wake up Christmas morning with a book on his or her bed.

The library is also asking for donations of new magazines or activity books, such as colouring, word search, etc. to provide to local senior residences this Christmas. The aim is to help cheer up the residents of Revera Heritage Lodge and MacDonald Residence in Vankleek Hill and Champlain Long Term Care Residence in L’Orignal during these unsettling times.

If you would like to get in on the Christmas spirit by donating a new book to ‘A Book on Every Bed’ please call the Champlain Library at 613-678-2216, or stop by the library to be matched with a child. The library also accepts cash donations. All donated books must be unwrapped and accompanied with a gift bag and tissue paper and dropped off to the library by Saturday, November 26, 2022.
