Popping a wheelie proved costly for a motorcyclist caught speeding on Pattee Road south of Hawkesbury.

Officers with the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment intercepted a motorcycle performing a wheelie while passing another vehicle and travelling at 143 kilometres-per-hour (km/h) in a posted 60 km/h zone on the residential roadway on Friday, October 14. OPP East Region posted a photo of the radar reading on its Twitter feed the same day, which prompted a number of comments on the website.

The motorcyclist was charged with stunt driving and the motorcycle was impounded for 14 days.
