Municipalité régionale du comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil council met on July 13 and adopted a series of resolutions regarding local transportation, agriculture, and housing.
Bucks for bus
Council received confirmation from the Ministère des transports du Québec that the MRC d’Argenteuil is receiving a grant of $115,490 for the continued development of its collective transportation program in 2021. The MRC provides a bus service connecting communities across its municipalities.
Storm support
The severe May 21 storm which swept across the region caused considerable damage on farm properties. MRC d’Argenteuil council has approved a resolution supporting the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) efforts to obtain more disaster relief funding from the Québec government.
Housing help
On July 13, MRC d’Argenteuil council approved the signing of an agreement between the Société d’habitaton du Québec, l’Office régional d’habitation d’Argenteuil, and the MRC d’Argenteuil to receive a $107,000 grant to assist people with rent payment emergencies and to support homeless people searching for housing. The MRC is responsible for $10,000 of the grant to the program.
