The water level upstream of the Carillon power dam will decrease temporarily for four days.
Hydro-Québec is currently carrying out repair work on the safety boom. Buoys and anchors must be replaced following breakage that occurred during flooding last spring.
This repair work will take place from Monday, July 18, to Thursday, July 21, inclusively.
To ensure the safety of workers on the water during the work, it will be necessary to lower the level of the Ottawa River upstream of the powerhouse and the spillway. The lowering of the level could reach 10 centimetres near the power station, and a slight drop could be felt near Gatineau.
Hydro-Québec invites boaters and other users of the Ottawa River to take the decreased water level into account and exercise caution.
Any questions about the dam water level may be directed to the Hydro-Québec Info-projects line at 1 800 465-1521, extension 6022.
