Great weather made for a fantastic five days at the Festival Western Optimiste de Wendover.

The 36th annual festival wrapped up on Sunday evening at 4 p.m. with a closing performance by Canadian country music artist Rheal Leblanc, from Bouctouche, New Brunswick. The four-day festival welcomed patrons from Prescott-Russell, Clarence-Rockland and even country music enthusiasts from as far away as Ottawa and Montreal to enjoy muliple artists. The festival has grown in popularity, as the event entertained big gatherings of folks each day.

“The weather was fantastic, and the music was great,” said Liette Hotte, president of the Festival Western Optimiste de Wendover.

Hotte highlighted three acts which stood out to her.

“Les Rats d’Swomp , Syldan, and Coco Country Band,” said Hotte, of her favorite performances during the four days of music.
