July will be the month of live music in Vankleek Hill, with three weekends in a row of musical entertainment scheduled throughout the village, including a Community Dance, the Food Bank Jamboree and Porchfest.

Vankleek Hill Community Dance, July 2

The Vankleek Hill Tulip Fields at 199 Main Street will be the site of a Community Dance on Saturday, July 2, organized by the Hawkesbury Rotary Club and Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with cocktails, followed by supper, dessert and entertainment by local rock band 50 PROOF. While the tulips are no longer on hand, the beautiful site offers plenty of parking and is wheelchair accessible.

Vankleek Hill Food Bank Jamboree, July 9

The Vankleek Hill Food Bank Jamboree will be held on Saturday, July 9, with a large stage and event tent set up in the parking lot of the Windsor Tavern on Main Street.

Featured act Mariner’s Curse hits the stage from 9-11 p.m., preceded by six other performers beginning at 3 p.m., including Madhouse, Timeless, Mary & Nancy’s Acoustic Session, Mike Lemieux and Gord Nixon, who will also serve as the event host.

Vankleek Hill Porchfest, July 16

Vankleek Hill Porchfest 2022 will take place on Saturday, July 16, with a full slate of music from noon until 5 p.m. and an after party jam at the Windsor Tavern.

Local band 50 PROOF will open up Porchfest at the Arbor Gallery from Noon until 1 p.m. Other performers at Porchfest include Celtic Flare, JR & The Gator, The Steve Gravel Band, Foreman and Company, Balance, Marie-Eve Vezina and many more, for a total of 14 acts at 14 different locations.

There will then be three to four bands performing at separate locations each hour, primarily on Higginson, Main and Hamil streets, so that all of the acts are well spaced. Signage, schedules and water stations will be available on each street.
