Sûreté du Québec police officers carried out a search resulting in five drug-related arrests in Lachute on May 31.
Officers searched a residence on rue Doctor Rigby in Lachute. Vehicles were also seized on rue Principale and rue du Grenoble, in Lachute, on rue du lac Carillon, in Browsburg-Chatham, and on chemin des Lys, in Gore.
Three men aged 42, 31 and 29 and a 37-year-old woman aged were arrested and later released on a promise to appear. They must return to court at a later date, in Saint-Jérôme and could face narcotics and cannabis charges. A 24-year-old woman was also arrested and remained in custody for appearance because she was in breach of condition.
During the search, the police seized:
- More than 43 grams of cocaine
- More than 28 grams of cannabis
- More than 25 grams of hashish
- More than 78 methamphetamine pills
- Equipment intended for drug trafficking
- More than $600 in Canadian currency
- A 2011 Kia Forte, 2012 Toyota Corolla, 2016 Ford Escape, and a 2010 Mazda 3 vehicle as offence-related property
The operation resulted from an investigation initiated following information received from the public.
