A Saint-Eugène couple has won $100,000 in a recent LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Royal Cyr and Penny Baron Cyr of Saint-Eugène matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the March 26, 2022, LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000. The couple, who have been married for 26 years, said they are regular lottery players who always play ENCORE.

“I checked our ticket on my phone early one morning – I had to check it five times before I believed it,” shared Royal, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings. “I waited until Penny woke up to show her.”

Penny said when Royal scanned the ticket in front of her, she started counting the zeros.

“It was unbelievable – I started shaking and crying tears of joy,” Penny said.

The couple plans to pay some bills and invest in the future.

“We’re going to celebrate with a trip to Texas to visit some family members,” Penny smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at A&M Gas Mart on Albion Road in Gloucester.
