Police officers from the MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers have recently carried out several road safety operations across their territory. Police issued more than 49 tickets, including 27 for speeding, two for not wearing a seat belt, and 20 tickets for other various offences. 

One of the more significant interventions occurred when police arrested a 23-year-old man from Grenville-sur-la-Rouge on rue Maple (Route 344) in Grenville. The suspect was taken to the SQ station, where a drug recognition evaluating officer gave the suspect a series of tests and he was later released.

The suspect will appear in court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme Courthouse, where he could face charges of driving while impaired by drugs and possession of narcotics, as well as offenses relating to illicit cannabis. . His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was towed.
