MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers recently handed out two significant speeding fines on the same day, on the same road. 

At around 11:15 a.m. on March 15, a vehicle was intercepted Chemin des Érables in Brownsburg-Chatham. The vehicle was traveling at 101 kilometres per hour in a 50-kilometres-per-hour zone. A 57-year-old woman from Brownsburg-Chatham received a ticket for $817 and 10 demerit points. Her driver’s license was suspended for a period of seven days.  

Shortly after 1:15 p.m. the same day, SQ officers from the Mont-Tremblant-based operational support team intercepted a vehicle for speeding in the same area. The vehicle was traveling at 95 kilometres per hour in a 50-kilometres-per-hour zone. A 72-year-old man from L’Orignal received a ticket totaling $584 and six demerit points.
