A fundraising drive held at Foodland in Vankleek Hill last Saturday, March 12, raised a total of $5,258.88 for the local food bank.
Mike McGurk of the Vankleek Hill Food Bank, along with Foodland owners Sherry and Justin Phelan, were extremely happy with the total amount raised, noting it is a phenomenal amount for a small community.
“Last year we raised $2852.01 and with rising food prices, we are happy we were able to donate way beyond our goal,” said Justin Phelan.
