Eastern region teams took home many of the medals at the 2022 Ontario Senior Provincial Broomball Championships in Arnprior last weekend (March 11-13).

The gold medal in the Men’s Elite was won by the Lacombe’s squad, which includes players from Vankleek Hill, Maxville and other regions of Glengarry and Stormont. In the Ladies Elite division, the Eastern Rebels took home gold. The team includes players from the Vankleek Hill, Chesterville and Finch leagues.

In the Coed Division, the Eastern Region’s Hillbillies, which includes players from Russell, Finch, Maxville and Vankleek Hill, earned the silver medal. The Masters Ladies silver medalists were the McMillans, which includes players from the Almonte, Carleton Place, Vankleek Hill, Maxville, Williamstown, Stormont and Kingston regions.

Winning Masters Ladies bronze was the Arrowstar team, including players from Alexandria, Ste-Anne-de-Prescott, Maxville and Cornwall. Men’s Masters Gold was won by the EOQ Legends, with players from the Alexandria and Cornwall regions. The Vankleek Hill Vikings won the bronze medal in the Intermediate Men’s division.

Several of the winning teams will be traveling to the 2022 Canadian Broomball Nationals in Saskatoon from April 6 to 9.
