Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on February 5, police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), MRC d’Argenteuil station, were notified of a vehicle on eastbound Autoroute 50 near kilometre 263. The person who notified the police mentioned that the female occupant of the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated and did not want the police contacted.

Police arrived quickly on the spot and after performing various checks, arrested the driver, whose blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. A 36-year-old woman, from Blainville, was arrested and taken to the SQ station and later released on a summons.

The accused must return to court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme courthouse and may face impaired driving charges. Her driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was seized for 30 days.

The next day, 30 kilometres away  

On February 6, shortly before 2:30 a.m., SQ officers noticed a vehicle being driven erratically on Autoroute 50 eastbound at kilometre 233 in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. Police stopped the vehicle to check the condition of the driver, whom they subsequently arrested.

A 35-year-old man from Lachute was taken to the SQ station and later released on a summons to appear. He must return to court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme and could face impaired driving charges. His driver’s license was also suspended for 90 days.
