The Recreation Department in La Nation would like to clarify details involving its 2022 capital budget.

On January 9, The Review reported that the department was planning to replace the slab surface at the arena in St-Isidore. According to Recreation Coordinator Carol Ann Scott, the project will not be going ahead this year because it was contingent on receiving a $500,000 Community Building Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and the grant application has been rejected.

Scott said the project was for the replacement of aging infrastructure and not environmental reasons as originally reported.

The municipality will still be developing plans for the slab surface replacement at the St-Isidore arena in 2022 with the hope the work will be done in a future year.
