A poinsettia sale organized as a fundraiser by Maison Interlude House (MIH) sold more than 1,300 plants and raised $25,000 for the charity organization.

As a first-project for the charity, MIH had set an ambitious goal of selling 500 plants – a target that was surpassed in just one week. All told, buyers snapped up 1,360 plants from the sale.

Combined with the financial support of several businesses and municipalities in the region – including Caisse Desjardins Ontario, the main partner of the campaign – a total of $25,000 was raised for the benefit of the organization that works with women victims of violence in the counties of Prescott-Russell and SD&G.

Golden Volunteers

In a press release, Maison Interlude thanked its team of volunteers, who worked extremely hard, both on the sales and with deliveries. Thanks to the success of the sale, MIH is already looking at a target of selling 2,000 poinsettias in 2022.

The release noted that a great deal of the success was due to exceptional support from the community. In several businesses, organizations and schools in the region, people planned sales within their organization and the number of plants sold literally exploded.
