In addition to incumbent Lachute Mayor Carl Péloquin being challenged by Bernard Bigras-Denis of the Vision Lachute party in the November 7 municipal election, there are independent candidates seeking council seats in five of six districts. In District 5, incumbent Councillor Guylaine Cyr-Desforges has been acclaimed as a member of Vision Lachute. 

District 1 will have a new councillor no matter what the election results are. Incumbent Councillor Patrick Cadieux is not seeking re-election. The candidates to replace him are Aline Gravel of Vision Lachute, and independent candidates Mélanie Lajoie and Daniel Mayer. 

In District 2, Vision Lachute candidate Virginie Filiatrault is challening incumbent independent Councillor Serge Lachance. 

Vision Lachute candidate Christian David is running against incumbent independent Denis Richer in District 3. 

There are three candidates in District 4 where independent incumbent Alain Lanoue is seeking another term. Gaetan Larose of Vision Lachute and Manon Villeneuve are the other candidates for the seat. 

In District 6, independent candidate Denis Laberge is running against incumbent Hugo Lajoie, who is also the Vision Lachute candidate.
