Community heroes come out for Rick Hansen Relay
The Review, October 26, 2011 – LACHUTE – It wasn’t the familiar face of Canadian icon Rick Hansen who rolled through downtown Lachute on October 24, it was the faces of local, everyday heroes, many of whom have overcome great struggles in their fight for mobility and equal access. Vankleek Hill native Joey Desjardins is an inspirational young medal-bearer who was chosen to join the relay based on his fortitude and the role be plays in inspiring others in his community.

No magic bullet for flicker

Albert Belanger more than doubling the votes of the Liberal candidate. “I’m not surprised with my win or that of the party, but I didn’t think it would be this decisive,” Belanger said.

Radio station planned for Hawkesbury
The Review, October 31, 1946 – HAWKESBURY – A group of businessmen headed by Mr. Harry Greenspon are organizing the establishment of a radio broadcasting station in Hawkesbury. The preliminary work in obtaining consent is much advanced and Mr. Greenspon hopes to have definite news on the matter at an early date.

Politics getting hot in Prescott County
The Review, October 28, 1921 – PRESCOTT COUNTY – Following the nomination of Mr. Binette as the Farmer candidate for this county, there appears to be a good deal of dissatisfaction regarding the makeup of the delegates at the nomination which brought him out. Alfred, Plantagenet, Longeuil is reported to have had a good many more representatives than was originally intended. The Review is credibly informed that a new nominating convention will be held in VANKLEEK HILL on November 3.
