Larocque Woods cleanup in Alfred on October 23

The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet is inviting area residents to a first-time cleanup of Larocque Woods in Alfred on Saturday, October 23.

The cleanup will begin at 10 a.m. and the township is asking members of the community to come and help beautify the woodland located in the heart of the village of Alfred. Tasks will include sawing branches, raking leaves and pine thorns, picking up rubbish, and other work as identified.

Anyone who has protective equipment (work gloves, closed-toe shoes or work boots, helmet and goggles, etc.) is encouraged to wear them. Those who have tools (rake, wheelbarrow, pruning shears, saw, specialized equipment, etc.) are encouraged to bring them as well.

Anyone interested in participating is asked to sign up using this form.

Participants will not be asked to do any task with which they are not comfortable. Those who complete the linked form, attest that they are aware of the potential risk of injury involved in the activity and understand that participation is voluntary. Participants must also understand their rights and waive any legal recourse against the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, and its partners.
