Dalkeith…Plus is welcoming area businesses and the public to its 5th annual ‘Touch’ event on Sunday, September 26.

The theme for 2021 is ‘Touch a Local Business’ and organizers are inviting area entrepreneurs to take a breath of fresh air and showcase their products outdoors. The event will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., at the Dalkeith…Plus site located at 1835 County Road 23, just north of the stop sign in Dalkeith. Setup will be between 10 a.m. and noon.

“We’re really pushing local business,” said Brenda Noble, of Dalkeith…Plus, adding the event is open to any businesses that service the region. “It’s a mini trade show and even businesses who cannot attend are welcome to donate items to promote their products.”

Dalkeith…Plus is looking for volunteers to help out with the event, as well as more businesses to sign up. Anyone interested in volunteering of hosting a booth is asked to contact Brenda Noble at 613-874-2946 or by email at [email protected]. Businesses are asked to reserve their spot by September 15.

Facemasks will be optional outdoors, but spacing will be enforced. will adhere to the guidelines put in place by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit. Visitors are asked to please maintain safe-distancing from other attendees. Some displays will also be held indoors, where masks will be required.

“We have a lot of room outside,” noted Noble, of the large outdoor space that will allow visitors to keep well spaced from each other.

There will be a refreshments and a chip stand on site and washrooms and water will be available.

Admission for the event is $1, and everyone will receive a ticket for the 50/50 draw, which will take place at 4:55 p.m.
