Franco-Ontarian artists Véronic Dicaire and Mélissa Ouimet have been added as special surprise guests to the United Counties of Prescott-Russell’s Canada PR 2021 concert, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 1.

Born in Embrun, Dicaire is a Franco-Ontarian singer and impressionist, who has regularly been featured as the opening act for Celine Dion. In 2019, Dicaire introduced ‘The Showgirl Tour’ in which she mimics the voices of 50 legendary female vocalists.

Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter Mélissa Ouimet has appeared twice on La Voix and released a new single in early 2021, as well as announcing plans for an EP in October of this year.

The two artists join a huge line up of talent for the event, which is being hosted by the comedy-improv duo Les Ptit’s Cousins – Jonathan Dion and Miguel Martin. Damien Maze, les Rats d’Swompe, Martine Parisien, Max Richard, Gabrielle Goulet and Marie-Clo are among the headline artists who will perform. Residents will also have the chance to see performances by 50 PROOF, Andrew Charlebois, Brian St-Pierre, JB Danceworkz, Louis Racine, Lawrence Larouche and Cynthia Martin from MAJINX, Martine Lafontaine and Noah Rivard, Natacha Jackson, Simon Cameron and Tara Shannon.

The celebrations will begin at 6:30 p.m. on July 1 via Facebook Live on the Canada PR 2021 event page https://www.facebook.com/events/850103679251699 . The broadcast will also be available through the various platforms of the municipalities, the Prescott-Russell Arts Council (CAPRAC) and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
