The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) continues its efforts to reduce speeding on Route 329 in the rural area of Lachute and Gore. The SQ road safety support unit carried out several activities along the highway during June 12-13 weekend.
More than 25 offences were issued by the police, including one for excessive speeding while traveling at 147 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometres per hour zone, and two motorcyclists who were attempting to pass another vehicle while traveling at 139 and 137 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometres per hour zone.
Further road safety enforcement operations are planned in the area during the coming weeks.
