On June 11, 2021, Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Dalkeith Road, North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

A  56-year-old male from North Glengarry was arrested and charged with;

-Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs – Criminal Code (CC) – sec.320.14(1)(a)

-Operation while impaired -CC- over 80 sec.320.14(1)(b)

-Fail to comply with conditions of a release order -CC sec.-145(5)(a)

-Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance – CC- sec. 811

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on August 31, 2021.

Police are reminding the public that a 90-day automatic drivers license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment accompanies any impaired driving charge. The OPP remains committed to reducing impaired driving and the public’s assistance is requested in helping to keep roads safe. If you suspect a driver is impaired call 911.
