Approximately 2,000 Hydro-Québec customers were without power on Wednesday night in Lachute.

According to Hydro-Québec spokesperson Sophie Lamoureux, a car accident occurred on route 158 near chemin Dunany at approximately 11 p.m. A pole was broken which led to the power outage.

At first, 2,000 customers were affected, but Hydro personnel were able to switch feeds to restore service to all but 366 customers. Crews replaced the pole and made other repairs, and the remaining customers again had electricity by 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
