According to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority, there were less than five cases of COVID-19 active among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Friday, May 28. The CISSS des Laurentides does not list the exact number of cases if there are less than five across a regional municipality.
As of Friday, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 24.
Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 189 active cases of COVID-19 as of May 28.
COVID-19 vaccination appointments are available to all adults aged 18 and greater in Québec.
Vaccinations are also available to adolescents aged 12 to 17, and to essential workers or individuals with chronic health conditions aged 16 and higher.
Effective May 29, Québec residents interested in receiving their second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine can go designated walk-in vaccination site, according to locations and time slots identified at www.santelaurentides.gouv.qc.ca. Individuals must meet the following requirements:
- Be a minimum age of 45 years old
- Have received a first dose of AstraZeneca or Covishield vaccine for at least eight weeks
- Not to be immunosuppressed.
The Québec department of health and social services reported that 356,876 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Friday, May 28. Across Québec, 5,306,336 vaccine doses had been administered as of Friday.

Schools and long-term care facilities
According to the Québec government, there were no schools within MRC d’Argenteuil with any active cases of COVID-19 as of May 28. As of Friday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.
According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 4,758 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Friday, May 28. There were 419 new cases across Québec on Friday from Thursday.
There were 385 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Friday, and 91 of those patients were in intensive care.
There had been 11,118 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of May 28, which was an increase of three deaths from May 27.
The MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is now an orange zone under Québec’s regional system of public health restrictions. As of May 28, backyard social gatherings of up to five people from different residences are now permitted, and the social fun can continue into the night because the curfew that formerly existed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly has been eliminated. Dining at outdoor patios is also now permitted at restaurants.
Further reductions in restrictions are to be phased in during the months ahead.
