On May 23, 2021, shortly after 11:45 a.m., Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Route 500 West near Benoit Side Road in The Nation.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle had gone off the roadway and was located in the woods.
The Casselman Fire Department and the Prescott-Russell Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene. An officer commenced first aid on the lone driver. The motorist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver has been identified as Gaetan JODOIN, age 69, from Casselman, Ontario.
The OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) are currently working to determine the cause of the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
