MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec officers, assisted by the contraband investigation department, carried out an operation in Brownsburg on Tuesday, May 11 in connection with illegal tobacco sales.
The police carried out a search of a residence on rue Saint-Joseph and seized 25,600 contraband cigarettes, eight bottles of liquor, and more than $ 1,300 in cash.
A 66-year-old woman could face charges under the Alcoholic Beverages Offenses Act and the Tobacco Tax Act. The investigation continues and a request will be sent to seize the suspects vehicle as offense-related property.
