The number of active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil had decreased to 14 as of Tuesday, April 27, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority. On Monday, April 26, there had been 16 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 24 as of Tuesday.

Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 423 active cases of COVID-19 as of April 27.

Vaccination information

The Québec department of health and social services reported that 195,319 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Tuesday.

Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 45 to 79 at clinics without appointment across the Laurentides region.

For all other vaccinations, residents of the Laurentides region of Québec aged 60 (born in 1961 or before) and greater are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of April 26 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:

École Dansereau – St-Martin in Grenville

École St-Alexandre in Lachute

École St-Julien in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of Tuesday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 10,007 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, April 27. There were 899 new cases on Tuesday from Monday, April 26.

There were 667 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Tuesday, and 170 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,898 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of April 27, which was an increase of 12 deaths from April 26.

Across Québec, 2,916,897 vaccine doses had been administered as of Tuesday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect. Entry into Québec from Ontario is also restricted in response to Ontario closing its border to non-essential traffic.
