As of Monday, April 26, there were 16 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority. There had been 27 active cases on Friday, April 23.
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 24 as of Monday.
Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 435 active cases of COVID-19 as of April 26.
The Québec department of health and social services reported that 192,674 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Monday.
Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 45 to 79 at clinics without appointment across the Laurentides region.
For all other vaccinations, residents of the Laurentides region of Québec aged 60 (born in 1961 or before) and greater are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.
Cases in schools and long-term care facilities
According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of April 26 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:
École Dansereau – St-Martin in Grenville
École St-Alexandre in Lachute
École St-Julien in Lachute
Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute
As of Monday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.
According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 10,370 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Monday, April 26. There were 889 new cases on Monday from Sunday, April 25.
There were 664 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Friday, and 167 of those patients were in intensive care.
There had been 10,886 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of April 26, which was an increase of eight deaths from April 25.
Across Québec, 2,871,140 vaccine doses had been administered as of Monday.
Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.
The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect. Entry into Québec from Ontario is also restricted in response to Ontario closing its border to non-essential traffic.
